Utica Community Schools -School to Work Appreciation Luncheon

Madison Podiatry attended the Utica Community Schools School-to-Work Appreciation Luncheon held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012.

The event was given to express appreciation to the employers for participation in the Utica Schools co-op program.

Madison has participated for several years in the Utica Schools Co-Op program.

The school-to-work co-op experiences allow the student to begin a documented work record and gain valuable experience in the workplace that is related to their chosen field of endeavor while still in high school.

As partners with the Utica Schools we had two Co-Ops this year.  Our Co-Ops were fine ambassadors of their schools.  What a great experience for all as they taught us as much as we taught them.

Congratulations to them as they are graduating and moving on to university to pursue their higher education.

Thank you for all your hard work over the past year.  Best of luck for all your future endeavors!

The Tour de Cure is a series of fundraising cycling events held in 44 states nationwide to benefit the American Diabetes Association.

The Tour is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. Whether you ride 10 miles or 100 miles, you will travel a route supported from start to finish with rest stops, food to fuel the journey and fans to cheer you on!

Each Tour de Cure event has its own character and style—from unique starting points to gorgeous scenery and more! In 2011, more than 55,000 cyclists in 80 events raised more than $18 million to support the mission of the American Diabetes Association: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Go to The Tour de Cure website if you are interested in riding, donating and/or supporting Dr. Jacob and Team MPMA.

Two of the staff at Madison Podiatry attended  the North American Auto Show Charity Preview on January 13, 2012 at Cobo Hall in Detroit. The event is held every year at the beginning of the North American Auto Show to benefit children's charities in the Metro Detroit Area.

96% of the ticket price goes directly to the charities involved showing the real generosity of all involved in the event! Since 1976 the Charity Preview has raised more than $84 million for southeast Michigan children's charities.

The proceeds from the tickets purchased by the Madison Staff were earmarked to go to benefit "The March of Dimes" and "The Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation".

We are pleased to be part of this worthwile event and have the opportunity to help out the children in our Community!

Madison Podiatry sponsored a "Help Stomp Out Hunger" food drive through The Gleaners in November and December 2011. We collected several hundred pounds of food along with some cash donations to assist our less fortunate friends in the community. The drive continued through December 31st, 2011. A heartfelt thanks to all our kind friends that helped to make the world a better place.

Madison Podiatry participated in the "Adopt-a-Family" program through The Volunteers of America to help to provide for a better Holiday Season this year for a needy family in our community. We provided food, clothing and household goods that the family wished for. Thanks to the Madison Podiatry staff for their generosity and time that helped to make a better Holiday season for our less fortunate friends.
